See Jesus

“The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.” John 12:21

I live in Los Angeles, well technically Pasadena. BUT, if you want to drive to LA from my house at 3 a.m., you could be in the heart of downtown in 15 minutes because there wouldn’t be traffic! There are people everywhere! When our family moved here almost two years ago to plant a church, we found there were, well, over 500,000 people living within a 5-mile radius of our house. It was culture shock coming from a town of 15,000 in Georgia.

We have every nationality and religion known to man, political point of view, and the most amazing restaurants EVER all within reach. One thing I have found, despite all the differing view points on EVERYTHING, is that people are all really wired the same. As a Christian, that is no surprise to us, right? We know we were all created by a loving God for a purpose greater than ourselves and that EVERYONE is searching for their reason for being here. (Revelation 4:11)

I think that what we sometimes fail to remember is that people don’t really care what we know until they know we care.

Our nation is polarized by issues. Christian, it’s time to make Jesus the one we boldly show others. Love your neighbor. Bake them some cookies. Invite them to church. Take them to lunch. Ask them how you can pray with them. What this world needs to see is Jesus.

When they know Him, He does the changing in every area necessary. We get the privilege to stand by our new found friend’s side to cheer them on as the Holy Spirit transforms them by the renewing of their mind.

Jesus looks amazing! I’ve found when I get out of the way and point to Him, He is still changing Mary Magdalene’s and women at the well. He’s still the same God He was back then.

Pray every day that people see less of you and more of Jesus.
